You're looking at the backside of the radiator, with the cooling door partially opened. Engine-mount framework extends across the bottom.

A replica D-VII under construction at the Champlain fight museum. Nore wood instrument panel and seat -- seat was generally covered in fabric. Framework is light grey here, generally dark green on original Fokkers.
